Who owns the leads captured by the widget?

You do. Every email captured by your AuditWidget embed goes directly to your dashboard. Export the full list to CSV, push it to your CRM, or work the list inside AuditWidget. We never cross-sell to your leads, share the list, or contact them.

Who sees the leads

Only you. When a visitor enters their email to unlock an audit report on your embedded widget, that email is written to your AuditWidget dashboard under the specific widget that captured it. It doesn't appear in anyone else's dashboard, and it isn't used for AuditWidget's own marketing.

You can see every captured lead by logging in and opening the widget's Leads tab. Each row shows email, audit date, and the URL the visitor audited — which is often the most useful piece. A visitor who audited their own site is more qualified than a cold signup.

Getting the leads out

  • CSV export. One-click export of all leads for a widget, with email, audit URL, and date. Pro and Agency plans.
  • Copy from the dashboard. On the Free plan, the lead list is visible in the dashboard — you can copy entries manually.
  • Push to your CRM. Most agencies import the CSV into HubSpot, Pipedrive, or ActiveCampaign. A Zapier / webhook path for direct integration is on the roadmap.

What AuditWidget does not do with your leads

This is the part worth being explicit about, because some free tools monetize the lead list on the back end. We don't:

  • We don't email your leads product marketing or upsells.
  • We don't share, sell, or rent the list to third parties.
  • We don't use the leads to train any models.
  • We don't add them to an AuditWidget newsletter, nurture sequence, or retargeting audience.

The only email AuditWidget sends to a captured lead is the unlocked report itself, delivered at the moment of capture. After that, the relationship is between them and your agency.

Compliance and sender reputation

Because the lead gave their email directly to your widget on your site, consent is explicit at the point of capture. Most agencies include a one-line disclosure near the email field ("We'll send your full report to this address") — which also bumps opt-in rates. When you export to your CRM, you inherit the same consent context.

You're responsible for downstream compliance (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR depending on geography). AuditWidget's privacy policy is narrow and transactional: we process the email only to deliver the audit and store it in your dashboard.

Edge cases

  • A visitor audits a competitor. Their email still lands in your dashboard, and the audited URL is recorded — that's often useful intel for sales.
  • A visitor runs multiple audits. Each audit is a row; the same email will appear once per audit, so you see the full history.
  • You cancel your subscription. Your leads stay in your dashboard. Downgrading does not delete them.
  • You delete a widget. You'll be asked to export leads first; deletion is permanent.

See the agencies partner page for how agencies typically turn these leads into audits, proposals, and retainer contracts.
